Children with a claim to independent reading hold the keys to a lifetime of adventure.
With 10 issues per year, each sized-right AdventureBox magazine is part story, part lesson, and all fun. For readers ages 6-9, the Table of Contents summarizes what lies within. Each cheerfully illustrated story, originally written or in the case of My Time with Giants loosely adapted, is separated into chapters?each with a plot summary at the heading. The regular features, Nibby’s Games, Nature Box and Zak Jinks are not necessarily related to the cover story. The mini reading comprehension quiz always is. Nibby’s mail section calls for and publishes select artwork and joked from readers. Occasionally, you’ll find a glossary with English words and expressions translated to Chinese. The only “advertisement” is for the next issue.
Every story (A Night at Vampire Park, Chocolate and Funny Faces, Lisa West goes Back to School as examples) has a different style, setting, premise and characters. Young readers will have an opportunity to sample genres including horror and fantasy. Nothing too scary or wild, we promise. All are developmentally appropriate with good solid messages.
