Critically acclaimed solo pianist/composer Matthew Mayer follows up his 2016 family album, “Art,” a compendium of lovely arrangements of mostly traditional children’s tunes, with his own exquisite new melodies for dreaming, suitable for infants up to centenarians. With so much noise in our daily lives and so much rushing about, Mayer’s compositions are a reminder that no matter what your age, there is a spirit-soothing need for quiet and reflection. My favorite among these exquisite tracks: “Ordinary Way,” with a heart-touching ebb and flow that is anything but ordinary. Mayer’s message to his audience: “When listening to this music may you know that “You Are Beautiful ? and ? You Are Enough!”—two other titles on this soulful album.
