Bedtime for Sweet Creatures
Bedtime resistance engenders an array of “sweet creatures” beginning with the young protagonist in red footed pajamas. The text is poetic and universal, opening with the shouts of “NO! NO! NO!” when bedtime is announced by the mother who wants to put her headstrong “sweet creature” to bed. A parade of colorful creatures from bears to antelopes are trotted out to support the viewpoint of our resister.
With the human characters realistically depicted in collage, the sweet four-legged creatures are large and imaginatively drawn, frolicking in bright, flat colors across double-page spreads. A thoroughly delightful bedtime book.
