BLOOMING BENEATH THE SUN
Christina Rossetti wrote many playful and entertaining poems for children. Thirteen of them, including some of the more familiar, such as, “Who Has seen the Wind?” and “The Wind Has Such a Rainy Sound,” are included in this appealing collection.
The real pleasure of this collection comes from its cut paper collages. Sometimes with single, sometimes with double page spreads, each poem is enhanced by original art. While the peacock is especially delightful, every illustration has the distinctive colors and designs that are instantly recognizable as from the hands and heart of the masterful Ashely Bryan.
