Bubba & Boo
Megan Schoenbohm, a multi-instrumentalist with a sweet soprano, infuses her debut album with a natural playfulness, setting the tone with the title track about a pair of happy cheetahs who are best friends living in Timbuktu. Themes of kindness, consideration for others, peace, and a celebration of diversity thread throughout. Schoenbohm’s mostly original pop-style songs also cover bedtime (“The PJ Song”), creativity (“On the Big White Paper”) and the fanciful “My Pet Dragon.” The voices of Schoenbohm’s two children, Kaia and Xavier, who inspired the album, make appealing contributions, particularly in the traditional folk song that is the touching last track, “The Water Is Wide.”
