Canta las Letras
1-2-3 Andrés is the Latin Grammy-winning husband and wife team of Andrés Salguero and Christina Sanabria, who have performed for audiences across the US, as well as in Puerto Rico, Panama, Mexico and Colombia. Canta las Letras, is their fourth album for kids and contains 38(!) short songs designed to help children learn letters and letter sounds in Spanish with music and movement. Unlike previous CDs that were bi-lingual, this one is performed entirely in Spanish. There is at least one song for every letter, plus consonant blends and more. Because of the nature of the language, you sometimes have several songs to illustrate different pronunciations such as with the letter “C,” where you have the song “Cabeza, Condo, Corazón” (Head, Elbow, Heart), but you also need the addition of “Cinco Cerditos” (Five Little Pigs). The initial lyrics are shown in Spanish, but by clicking on the individual songs one can hit the “see translation” button for a full translation in English. All songs are skillfully and joyfully performed and set to high spirited infectious rhythms that vary from electronica to salsa. Salguero and Sanabria will keep the whole family dancing throughout the entire alphabet.
