I’ve Got A BoBo On My ToeToe!
Country rhythms and an unforced sense of fun shape David “Dafe” Womack’s round-up of original songs and arrangements of traditional children’s songs. In “A Dinosaur Lives Under My Bed,” a kid feels safe and cozy at night due to an unseen dinosaur protector that makes sure “everything will be all right.” The goofy title song takes a kid to England and tea with the Queen. Womack puts his silly-sweet spin on traditional tunes, too: in “This Little Piggy,” ducks, frogs and ‘gators get into the act; the “Itsy Bitsy Spider” is mighty tired of climbing back up that waterspout—and so are the butterfly and inchworm when their efforts have the same result. “Stinko (Wash That Dog),” Womack’s version of “B-I-N-G-O,” however, goes on a mite too long. This is the second children’s album for Womack, a teacher at a child development center with country music credits that include songs recorded by John Conlee, Loretta Lynn and others. Womack released his first children’s album, “Hold Your Nose When You Swallow a Goat,” in 2007.
