Land of Yangalele
$12.99
A family album of sing-alongs and story songs infused with African rhythms and a lively spirit composed and performed by Congolese soukous musician Siama Matuzungidi (now based in Minnesota) and his wife, singer “Auntie” Dallas. Lyrics are in English, Kikongo, Lingali, Swahili, and a sprinkling of words from other cultures. Instruments used—the balafon (percussion) from Ghana, mbira from Zimbabwe, shakers, a Jamaican rumba box, and Siama’s acoustic guitar—are pictured on the back of the CD package.
