Let’s Read is an app that allows parents and loved-ones to record themselves via a “selfie video” reading over fifty storybooks. The app is easy to use for both parents and children. Immediately upon opening the app, there is a video tutorial for adults on how to create their recordings and where children can find them. For children, the interface is simple, distraction-free, and color-coded. They simply click the purple library button to get to their collection and select the title they’d like to have read. They can then independently and at their own pace move through the storybooks.
The app and its library can be shared over a secured, private network that connects as many as five devices. Parents simply send an invitation through the app and family and friends can start recording stories for their loved-one’s library. This is perfect for parents who travel for work, grandparents, and family and friends who are not close enough to share story time in person.
