Mother Tiger has twins, Sera and Puli. After hearing dogs and men close to their den, she decides that they must move to a safer location. Setting out in the morning, both little tigers have enthusiastic but impractical suggestions about where to live. As the day progresses, hope for a new home wanes until Mother Tiger leaves Sera and Puli alone while she checks out one more possibility.
With gentle tension that is happily resolved, the charms of this book are the engaging characters and their jungle environment rendered realistically in the charcoal and orange illustrations. The mother’s care for her little tigers is palpable and reassuring.
