Max & Ruby Twin Trouble

Rosemary Wells’ beloved Max and Ruby are back, this time with twin troubles. Young rabbit Max knows where babies come from – taxis! His big sister, Ruby, knows even more about babies, including that she’s sure their new little sibling is going to be a girl. But she’s wrong. Baby Oliver shows up in the taxi as their parents came home from the hospital. And so does little bunny Grace. Twins!

The rabbit family finds out that two new additions make for double trouble, double work, double everyone’s time in caring for them. One day, the twins are “both very peaky.” They cry and cry. Nothing helps, until Max gives the two baby bunnies a human baby doll his sister had shown him. Oliver and Grace giggle and go to sleep. “All done!” says Max.

Young readers are likely to appreciate the brother-sister-baby interplay. Just be ready, Mom and Dad, to discuss where babies really come from.
