My Mommy Medicine
When a small child doesn’t feel well, Mommy can be trusted to help overcome illness and/or unhappiness with her special “medicine” This medicine consists of all the loving things mothers do – including kisses, songs, treats, baths, and, perhaps, real medicine tucked in there somewhere.
Told in the first person, the child frequently uses “we,” as the togetherness of the mother and child is seamless to the protagonist. The welcoming, flat, opaque, brightly colored illustrations across double-page spreads depict a warm, wonderful relationship with close-ups of facial expressions. This is a delightful book to share with children who are not feeling well – and for those who are.
