Banana Panda’s portfolio of Peek-a-boo Riddles is cleverly designed and beautifully executed.

The sturdy and colorfully illustrated cards are held together with a rivet, ensuring the riddles and their solutions stay together as a deck. The two circles (largest for the youngest) serve as sneak peek windows to answer card. This spot-on age appropriate series establishes itself with two sets of 38 rhyming riddles (Beginner and Advanced) for three-year-olds: “The long truck of this animal is actually its nose. On hot summer days, it sprays water like a hose.” The cards for the four-year-olds present riddles, activities and facts: “The largest tree in all the world, its branches grow so high, you cannot wrap your arms around it no matter how hard you try.” And the set for the elders (five-year-olds) takes learners around the world in 80 pages: “The Netherlands, known for windmills and canals. Has another source of pride. These gorgeous spring-time flowers are sought after far and wide.” As the concepts become more sophisticated, so do the illustrations.
