Snoopy in Space
Who knew Charlie Brown’s beloved beagle always dreamed of being an astronaut?!
In the premiere of this Apple TV+ series, Snoopy is inspired by his friends to apply to the astronaut program at NASA. Despite his expertise flying a doghouse as the Red Baron, NASA rejects his application, but they do send him passes to visit their headquarters. Snoopy has always been the most cunning of canines and he uses the visit to wangle his way into the astronaut program; after that, the sky is (literally) the limit.
Episodes follow Snoopy’s exploits as he joins the crew on the International Space Station, exploring the solar system and beyond. He accomplishes missions with the help of his stowaway pal Woodstock, and eventually fulfills his dream of visiting the moon. Once his work is done there, it’s time to set his sights on an even bigger goal: A mission to Mars!
This series retains the charm of the earliest animated programs featuring Charles Schulz’s legendary Peanuts gang while also making the most of 21st century subject matter. Storylines are filled with facts about our interstellar neighborhood, presented in kid-friendly terms and supported by actual video clips of NASA’s work. For parents who want their kids to be aware of the newest frontiers in space exploration while also hanging onto to childhood innocence for just a little while longer, you can’t do better than Snoopy in Space.
