Story Time with Benny & Buddy
Introductory byplay between a kid named Benny and his puppy Buddy leads to audio readings of children’s books that relate to a situation affecting the pair in some way. When they both need practice teaching Buddy to fetch, for example, Benny goes to his “listening library” and plays an audiobook recording of Jack Ezra Keats’ Whistle for Willy. David Shannon’s Duck on a Bike teaches the pair that “you never know what you can do until you try.” Among other books featured in the series so far: Molly Bang’s When Sophie Gets Angry—Really, Really Angry and How Do Dinosaurs Get Well Soon? by Jane Yolen. These resonant, well-produced audio books, read in six- to 10-minute segments, include musical accompaniment and sound effects.
